The Scots Pine of Francolini |
Listed as a Trentino natural monument and as such protected.
Situated close to the burgh of Francolini, on the road to Fondo Grande, at about 2 km from Folgaria, in a mixed wood of hardwood and resinous trees (attention: private property), prevalently Norway spruce and silver fir. It is not exceptionally big for its species (Pinus Silvestris L.) but it is unusual because it grows on a shallow layer of rather infertile soil. Its age is estimated in centuries. |
