Mezzomonte Geomorphological Trail |
In their slow retreat the great Quaternary glaciers have left a deep mark on the Plateau territory.
Like a giant engraving tool the mass of ice in motion rounded off the mountain summits, excavated wide valleys, and produced terracing; that is to say it created the basic structure of the morphologic platform we know today. The territory now displays significant signs and indications of that Herculean work of excavation and modelling. To admire them at close hand on the Folgaria plateau the Authorities ave set up a guided trail known as the Mezzomonte Geomorphologic Trail.
The tour allows visitors to observe closelythe glacial wells of Casom, the Noz moraine deposits and the landslide walls of Rosspach. The walk can be extended to reach the ancient Cimbro mountain hut of Ondertòl. | | |
