An ancient tree that challenges the passing of time and the wear of centuries – an authentic natural monument, the tallest silver fir in Europe.
Situated close to the Biotope of Malga Laghetto (Monterovere), it is easily reached by following the signs on the woodland path that veers to the left of the ‘Pez del Prinzep’ tourist complex.
The name Avéz (silver fir) del Prìnzep comes from a folk legend according to which in the far-off past the great tree belonged to the head of the Luserna commune, nicknamed Prìnzipe. |
