Trekking dei Forti
One of the most interesting historic-nature routes in south Trentino. Passes the seven Austro-Hungarian fortresses on the Altipiani di Folgaria, Lavarone and Luserna (1915-18 War). Besides the fortresses, of which the most interesting is the Fort Gschwent Belvedere Museum of Lavarone, the Trekking takes you to the Austrian-Hungarian fortresses Dosso del Sommo (Werk Serrada), Sommo alto, Cherle, Lusern, Busa Verle and Cima Vézzena and to the military cemeteries of Folgaria, Costalta and Slaghenaufi, the Monte Rust signals station, the mysterious Emperor’s Ladder and the remains of what was the sector tactics command hewn out of the deep gorge of Virti. It also affords panoramic views of the surrounding mountain chains.Cimbro Crossing.

The milestone carries the symbol AC which stands for Attraversata Cimbra
A path of approximately 25 km that links the German language community of Luserna with the Folgaria plateau, via Lavarone. It is a theme path that refers to a specific historic period on the three plateaux. This was the period of German-Cimbro colonization, which took place from the 11th to 14th centuries circa. here are traces of this German presence, which deeply affected the history, culture and traditions of the local people, in significant signs such as place names, surnames and – unique in the Trentino-Veneto area – the Community of Luserna, where the Cimbro language is still spoken regularly by the inhabitants. The Cimbro Crossing is therefore a walk back through time, a path through history in a beautiful natural environment. It can be used also as the way back (takes one day) from the Trekking dei Forti.

From the castles to the mountain
The Community of Folgaria, which still has the title of Magnifica Comunità, had to fight long and hard against the feudal demands of Beseno Castle. This century-long battle, which saw highly tragic moments, is remembered in the so-called Chapel of the seven widows/EM>, a chapel built in memory of a massacre of inhabitants of Folgaria (at Carpeneda on February 1593), and in the ancient path that linked the community to the castle. This ancient path was forgotten for many years but has now been uncovered and can be used by anyone wanting to discover not only signs of history, but also fascinating panoramas and the rural environment of the Rio Cavallo valley, the vale that goes from Folgaria into the wide lagarina valley. Known as From the Castle to the Mountain it develops on both sides of the valley and touches various points of interest such as the 16th century church of San Valentino, the a Fonte Biological Farm, the village of Mezzomonte, the Beseno Castle, the Rio Cavallo Torrent (Rosspach), the ancient cimbro hut of Ondertol, Guardia the painted town, the evocative Hofentol waterfall and the broad Gon Forest. Provided with signs and arrows, the path develops over approximately 2 km.
